The journal publishes original scientific articles on geographical, biological, and agricultural sciences devoted to problems of physical and social geography, biodiversity, ecology, evolution of natural systems, protection, conservation, and use of natural objects in the territory of Inner Asia (southern Siberia and Central Asia), as well as theoretical and methodological works, and chronicles of important scientific events. The main goal of creating the journal is the need for the exchange of scientific information on the current state and problems of research on the natural environment of Inner Asia as a unified ecological-geographical region, which will contribute to the activation and strengthening of transboundary cooperation and the exchange of experience among scientists from different countries.
The journal is published with a frequency of 4 times a year and is included in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). Articles are accepted and published in two languages — Russian and English.
